BEIJING, Oct. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- 's Foreign Ministry has said that having a united n opposition at the planned Geneva two is not a necessary condition to holding the peace conference.

The spokesman for the ministry said on Thursday that the prospect of a single coalition was dead and buried, pointing to the divisions within the opposition. He adds that Russia and its dialogue partners will continue working to make the talks happen.

Russia also urges other countries, including the US, to make sure the Syrian opposition honors its agreement to participate in the peace conference.
