VIENNA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- The fourth victim has been killed Tuesday by an alleged poacher who started a shoot-out with the police in the state of Lower Austria, authorities said.
Earlier media reports said two police officers and an ambulance driver were shot as the suspect was taking flight from the scene near the town of Annaberg to his farmhouse in Grosspriel near the district of Melk, where he barricaded himself. Full story
Police break into farm building barricading Austrian shooter
VIENNA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Austrian police officers have broken into the farm building where a local poacher barricaded himself after shooting four people, including three police officers on Tuesday, but have so far failed to find the suspect, a police spokesperson said.
It is not known whether the suspect had already fled the building which has been surrounded by the police for hours, the spokesperson said. Full story
