BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- The Chinese leader separately met with Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker Asylbek Zheenbekov and Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev.
When meeting with the Parliament Speaker of Kyrgyzstan, President Xi jinping said with the establishment of the China-Kyrgyzstan strategic partnership, bilateral relations can now enjoy more opportunities and more promising prospects.
The President said China is ready to work closely with Kyrgyzstan to build a Silk Road economic belt along the ancient business route - to promote common development and prosperity.
He spoke highly of the role the two nations’ legislative bodies play in developing bilateral relations, and called on the two sides to boost exchanges and learn from each other’s experience in national governance and legislation.
For his part, Zheenbekov said the Chinese president’s visit has lifted bilateral relations to a new high, after the two countries agreed to upgrade their relationship to a strategic partnership.
The Chinese leader later held talks with the country’s prime minister.
Xi Jinping proposed that China and Kyrgyzstan work together to boost trade between China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Central Asian country.
He added relevant departments of the two sides should step up their communication, promote two-way trade, and enhance cooperation in agriculture and customs.
He also hoped that Kyrgyzstan will further improve its investment environment and create favorable conditions for Chinese firms.
Satybaldiyev said his government will actively implement the agreements the two countries have reached and further expand bilateral cooperation. He said Kyrgyzstan is ready to work with China to properly carry out major cooperative projects such as the China-Central Asia gas pipeline.
He also called for joint efforts to promote infrastructure cooperation and boost exchanges between the two countries’ border areas.
