2013-09-04 (Xinhua)   2013-09-04 11:15:26

BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has met with President of Myanmar, Prime Minister of Thailand and Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore on the sidelines of the 10th China-ASEAN Expo.

During a meeting with Myanmar President, U Thein Sein, Li stressed the strategic importance of strengthening relations between the two nations against "the background of the complex international and regional situation".

As Myanmar is due to take over the rotating chairmanship of ASEAN in 2014, China has expressed its hope that Myanmar will contribute to the smooth development of China-ASEAN relations.

At a meeting with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, Premier Li Keqiang noted that the strategic and cooperative partnership between the two countries had entered a period of rapid development. He’s called on Thailand, as the coordinating country for China-ASEAN relations between 2012-2015, to push for greater progress in the development of ties.

On Monday, Premier Li also met with Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister, Teo Chee Hean. He’s stated that China looks forward to enhancing cooperation with Singapore in the areas of scientific and technological innovation, environmental protection, and finance and social management.

2013 marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN strategic partnership.
