BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Supporters and opponents of Mohamed Morsi remained camped out in Cairo on Saturday after a day and night of violence across the country.
At least 30 people died and more than 1,000 were wounded after Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood movement called for protests in a "Day of Rejection" across the country.
The Muslim Brotherhood promised more protests on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of the Muslim Brotherhood, Khayrat al-Shater, was arrested on Friday in Cairo on charges of inciting violence against opponents. TV channels affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood have been shut down.
