The Children's Day holiday has always given kids a good excuse to relax, but it is up to the adults to decide where to go. Whether it be a pure pleasure sojourn to Disneyland, a visit to a historical museum or a safari, or a simple family trip to a lake, now is the time to decide on that special destination.

Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park is a theme park located in the Shijingshan District of Beijing. It opened on Sep. 28, 1986, and is currently owned and operated by the Shijingshan District government. The park is accessible by Line 1 of the Beijing subway. [China.org.cn]

3. Water World in the Water Cube (National Aquatic Centre)

Water World, located in the south area of the Water Cube, boasts to be the biggest and most advanced indoor water theme park in Asia. It is equipped with the world's top slides, including RideHouse, Aqualoop and Tornado. Its intelligent temperature control system adjusts the indoor temperature according the change of seasons.

The colorful slides and the transparent plastic film walls and dreamy lights and music, create a scene like the undersea world, bringing freshness, excitement, mystery and happiness to tourists.

4. Happy Magic Watercube

Do not be confused the park with the Water Cube at the Olympic Village in Beijing. The Happy Magic Watercube, located on the far west side of the capital city.

Occupying an area of 33 hectares, the park claims to be the biggest water park in the world, with a maximum capacity of 30,000 people. It houses more than 50 waterslides and 18 attractions like "The Tornado" and the "Octopus Racer."

The park mixes up the traditional Chinese architectures with the modern American breath-taking water entertainment items and a European classical spa concept.

 

5.Beijing Aquarium

The stellar Beijing Aquarium is a worthwhile diversion in the northeastern corner of the Beijing Zoo. On view is an imaginative Amazon rainforest (complete with piranha), coral reefs, a shark aquarium (where you can dive with the flesh eaters), and a marine mammal pavilion. The last hosts lively aquatic animal displays.

This aquarium is home to thousands of fish, turtles and more, including an unforgettable Amazonian Arapaima, and features daily seal and dolphin shows.

6. Blue Zoo Beijing

Blue Zoo Beijing was the first walk-through aquarium established in Beijing, the capital of China. It is also the largest aquarium of its type in Asia. Blue Zoo Beijing's aquarium is a world-class complex featuring the latest in aquarium technology. In the year following its grand opening by the Prime Minister of New Zealand in November 1997, more than a million people visited the attraction.

Go to see fish from all over the world in China's largest aquarium or, if you call in advance, you can even go swimming with dolphins or sharks. With professional staff and a recent renovation, and over 6,000 sea creatures, the Blue Zoo is a good way to spend an afternoon in Beijing with children.
