BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhuanet) -- President Xi Jinping has visited Lushan county in China’s southwestern Sichuan province. The region was rocked by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake one month ago.

Xi Jinping visited an elementary school in Longmen village, just as students were holding a group discussion. He said that despite having been through difficult times, the children were resilient and happy.

Xi Jinping also visited temporary shelter provided to residents who lost their homes in the earthquake. He's reassured the residents of Lushan County that they'll soon be able to return to their homes once the rebuilding work is completed.
