BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- says nuclear talks with world powers were a "positive step". The two days of negotiations came to an end on Wednesday, in the Kazakhstani city of Almaty.
Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili was joined by representatives from the US, , , Britain, and China. In a statement, Jalili said the six countries made efforts to get closer to Iran’s viewpoint. He said further talks would be held in Istanbul on March 18th, and another round of political negotiations are also scheduled for April 5th and 6th.
Jalili suggested Iran was open to discussing its production of nuclear enriched fuel, but ruled out closing its underground enrichment plant in Fordow.
Saeed Jalili, Iranian Chief Negotiator, said, "The site of Fordow is a legal site. It is a site that the nuclear watchdog is entirely aware of and it is under their supervision and they are monitoring its production. Its production is entirely in accordance with the framework of the nuclear watchdog, and there is no justification for closing it, and this is not something that they had requested."
