BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has told supporters in Ramallah that he is determined to seek statehood status at the United Nations on Thursday.
Abbas said upgrading the UN status of Palestine to an observer state is the first step in achieving Palestinian rights. On Saturday, he said this is the last chance for making peace.
He called on U.S. President Barack Obama to live up to the statements he made in 2009 on the two-state solution and his opposition to Israeli settlement building on Palestinian land."
