BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- According to Syrian state television, the government forces have raided rebel hideouts in Aleppo. They also demolished cars and weapons belonging to the opposition.
The TV broadcast pictures of army units storming buildings with passageways blasted through the walls running between them. The television station also showed soldiers firing down what appeared to be deserted streets. Rebels have recently been in control of rural parts of Aleppo, partially cutting it off from Damascus.
Forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad have responded to rebel territorial gains with air strikes, most recently in Ras al-Ain, which is very close to the Turkish border. Turkey on Wednesday warned that its military would retaliate if any Syrian aircraft violated its airspace. And Syrian refugees were also seen crossing over into Turkey on the same day.
