BEIJING, Aug. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- President has held talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the Great Hall of the People during her official visit in China.

President Hu said China and have common interests on many bilateral, regional and multi-lateral issues. He said China is willing to implement the outcomes of the high-level meetings and the second round of China-Germany inter-governmental consultation.

He also expressed hope that European countries can solve the as soon as possible. Merkel said China and Germany have a wide range of cooperation, saying the second round of the China-Germany inter-governmental consultations have already been very fruitful.

She expressed confidence in the EU debt crisis’s solution and hopes to further strengthen economic and investment cooperation with China.
