BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- ’s military has signalled its acquiescence to President Mohammed ’s shake-up of leaders.
A military official said there has been no "negative reaction" from within Egypt’s armed forces. And a day after the president’s orders to to retire and replace the defense minister and chief of staff, no unusual military movements were detected anywhere across the nation.
With his latest move, President Morsi has reclaimed sole control of the constitution drafting process, the national budget and the right to issue laws. It could mean the ushering out of six decades of de facto military rule since army officers seized power in a coup in 1952.
