Young woman in wheelchair defies odds to complete Spartan Race

Zhang Qihui, a 29-year-old wheelchair user, successfully completed the Spartan Race at the Moganshan International Tourism Resort in Deqing county, East China's Zhejiang province on Saturday. She finished the 6.6-kilometer, 23-obstacle sprint race in 3 hours, 13 minutes, and 57 seconds.

Born in Jingmen city, Hubei province, Zhang was amputated at the age of 3 due to a car accident. She has a master's degree in bamboo flute from the Minzu University of China. She has won first prize in the instrumental music category of a nation-wide arts performance competition for disabled people three times in a row. In addition to her accomplishments she is also the inheritor of the world's longest flute, the longdi.
