The latest season of the reality show See You Again, which follows couples who are either divorced or in the process of divorcing as they embark on an 18-day road trip to beautiful destinations, recently premiered on Mango TV.

This year, the newest season brings together three couples, each with marriages lasting over a decade.

These pairs include actress Huang Shengyi and her businessman husband Yang Zi, singer Li Hangliang and his wife Mai Lin, and online influencers Liu Shuang and Ge Xi.

Throughout the series, the couples journey across the diverse landscapes of North China's Inner Mongolian autonomous region in an RV for 18 days.

Through intimate conversations, guidance from psychology and sociology experts and a range of activities designed to help the couples navigate their differences and strengthen their bond, the show aims to explore the intricacies of human emotions and relationships.

The program enlists the expertise of Shen Yifei, an associate professor of sociology from Fudan University, along with several other celebrities, such as singer-songwriter Hu Yanbin, actress-vlogger Jiang Yilei, and Taiwan anchorwoman Patty Hou, to observe the couples as they face communication challenges, conflicts and other hurdles during their journey.

With the release of its first episode, online discussions about the show have surged. Particularly noteworthy is the dynamic between Yang and Huang, a couple deeply intertwined in their careers as Huang is signed under Yang's company.

Despite being married for 17 years, the two exhibit a surprisingly distant stance in their perspectives on life. Yang, who confidently speaks in front of others, struggles to grasp Huang's expressions, leading to his wife gradually losing her desire to communicate.

The series delves into the shifting dynamics of gender roles within marital relationships, the evolving nature of marital responsibilities and the power imbalances that lie beneath unspoken tensions.
