China Daily invited Xenia, a designer from the Netherlands, to delve into the world of lacquer art from Professor Pu Meihe of the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in Wuhan, Hubei province. There, Xenia is introduced to the steps of making a piece of lacquer art, why the colors black and red are often used in the art form, and even created a lacquer art of her zodiac sign.
