Collection launch marks brand's fashion-week debut

Designer Joyce Bao collaborated with pioneering Chinese fashion platform LABELHOOD to launch the first collection of her brand, JOYCE BAO, at Rockbund on Saturday during the 2025 Spring/Summer Shanghai Fashion Week.
This collaboration marked the brand's debut on Shanghai Fashion Week. With her unique perspective as an Asian woman and her experiences growing up in both Eastern and Western cultures, Bao, along with her sensitivity and understanding of female qualities, creates designs that not only embrace the softness of women but also highlight their contemporary strength and resilience.
The JOYCE BAO 2025 Spring/Summer collection draws inspiration from the historical armor and robes of the East and West, Victorian-era women's lingerie, and details from traditional Chinese clothing, blending modern craftsmanship from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Bao also aims to challenge the long-standing stereotypes and biased impressions of Asian women that have existed in both Eastern and Western societies through her creations.
JOYCE BAO is among the new brands introduced by LABELHOOD this year.
The 18th season of the LABELHOOD Pioneer Fashion & Art Festival, held from Oct 10 to 15, features an array of events, including fashion shows, exhibitions, lifestyle-themed districts, and ordering sessions.
Sixteen Chinese designer brands, including the newcomer HENGDI WANG and ili node alongside well-known brands YIRANTIAN and SHUSHU/TONG, will showcase their latest creative accomplishments at the LABELHOOD runway, interpreting the resilience and strength of China's emerging design talents.
Since its establishment in 2009, LABELHOOD has witnessed the beginnings and growth of 95 percent of Chinese designers, maintaining long-term and close collaborations with outstanding brands.
