The global expedition cruise operator Hurtigruten Expeditions, an active member of the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators and the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators, launched the China Ready program in multiple Chinese cities in mid-September.
The announcement was made during a series of the company's brand day events where the company advocates for exploring stunning destinations while respecting wildlife, nature and local communities.
The China Ready program aims to enhance travel experiences for Chinese tourists and make them as comfortable as being at home, said Joe Zou, Hurtigruten Expeditions' sales director for China and Southeast Asia.
"We will provide Chinese translation and other support to ensure that Chinese guests can actively participate in various activities and scientific lectures on the ship," Zou said.
On specific voyages, the company will arrange a dedicated staff for Chinese services and offer Chinese expedition teams.
This team includes a Chinese-speaking expedition leader and team members committed to enhancing the overall experience for Chinese passengers, Zou said.
They are experts in their respective fields, covering biology, glaciology, science, history and cultural studies, and will ensure that Chinese guests fully understand the daily itinerary and activities, Zou added.
