The 2025 Spring/Summer Shanghai Fashion Week will kick off on Oct 9, unveiling 8 new collaborative landmarks for collection launches and event coordination, including the Museum of Art Pudong, HAI 550 shopping center, and the photography museum Fotografiska.
With these new additions, the total number of collaborative landmarks for Shanghai Fashion Week reaches 30.
Supermodel Lyu Yan's brand COMME MOI will lead the opening show. Drawing inspiration from contemporary artist James Turrell, the opening show will create a unique atmosphere through a dramatic interplay of light and color. The closing show will be presented by the renowned British fashion designer brand Vivienne Westwood.
Designer Chen Anqi, who extensively explores vanishing handicrafts, aims to integrate traditional crafts and culture into her designs. This season, her brand ANGEL CHEN will collaborate with the new Chinese-style tea brand CHAGEE to interpret Eastern aesthetics.
Furthermore, brands representing diverse voices in Chinese design such as STAFFONLY, XIAOLI, JUDYHUA, Short Sentence, DAMOWANG, PANTTERFLY, HEMU, and TUYUE will unveil new collections at Xintiandi while Italian luxury brand Moncler will also present the immersive gala, Moncler Genius, on Oct 19.
In addition to commercial activities, the new season's fashion week will collaborate with the Yangtze River Delta region, bringing together 10 industry-leading material enterprises to showcase their innovative achievements, promoting deep cooperation in material innovation and sustainable development within the fashion industry.
In addition, British luxury fashion retailer Harrods will make its fifth appearance in Shanghai, engaging in discussions at Fotografiska on the topics of Differentiators and Disruptive Experiences, as well as hosting a meeting for young designers and mentors to facilitate the exchange and development of young talent.
