China's GDP grew 5.3 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, showing a strong growth impetus.
The GDP in South China's Guangdong province reached 3.15 trillion yuan ($435.64 billion) in the first quarter, taking the lead among all 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in the Chinese mainland.
Northeast China's Jilin province took the lead in GDP growth rate, with the rate hitting 6.5 percent, surpassing the national average by 1.2 percentage points.
