Conference held to boost investment in Guizhou

As part of the four main activities of the 18th Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Conference, Guizhou Cultural and Tourism Industrial Investment Promotion Conference and the 2024 Colorful Guizhou Tourism Commodities Competition Award Ceremony were held in Xingyi of Guizhou province on April 12, garnering government representatives from cultural, travel and investment departments of various provinces and cities, as well as more than 260 enterprises from outside the Guizhou province.

In the first quarter of this year, Guizhou launched 77 investment projects in areas such as hotels and homestays, cultural and tourism complexes, leisure and shopping, cultural experiences, research and learning bases, outdoor sports, and health and vacation, with a total contract investment of 5.81 billion yuan ($802,818). At the signing ceremony, nine renowned companies signed contracts with relevant counties and departments of Guizhou with a total sum of 1.4 billion yuan.

The concept of "Huang Xiaoxi's Dinner" in scenic areas was introduced in order to further promote investment in Guizhou's cultural and tourism industry. In addition, Guizhou has planned and formulated 384 key investment projects for 2024, with a planned investment scale of 196.2 billion yuan.

Guizhou has introduced the "Qianli Gift" brand system in an effort to stimulate new ideas in creativity, design, technology, application and craftsmanship in Guizhou's characteristic tourism products, and to promote the specialization, branding, scale and marketization of tourism products.

In the 2024 Colorful Guizhou Tourism Commodities Competition, launched in March this year, attracted more than 3,000 tourism products as participants. Organizers of the competition said that this competition integrated new ideas in cross industry collaboration and fully took market demand into consideration to create products with cultural symbol, characteristics and genes of Guizhou, all in an effort to promote transformation in travel commodity industry and high level development.
