Renowned classical pianist Lang Lang was awarded the 2,778th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 10, marking a historic moment as he became the first Asian pianist to receive this prestigious accolade on the iconic sidewalk.

Situated at 7044 Hollywood Boulevard, the star was presented by the City of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, acknowledging Lang's remarkable contributions to the world of classical music, particularly in the realm of live performance.

Reflecting on the honor, Lang said: "When I was a little boy, I learned that music brings us together. No matter how different we may seem on the surface, we are inspired and healed by music. It doesn't matter if you grew up in Beijing or Boston, the common ground is music. It reminds us that we aren't that different after all."

During the ceremony, the pianist also treated attendees to performances of Jasmine Flower and Ritual Fire Dance (Manuel de Falla).

Lang's impact on the classical music scene has been profound, with millions of albums sold worldwide, achieving top positions on classical music charts while also enjoying widespread mainstream success. His recent albums, including 2019's The Piano Book, 2020's Goldberg Variations, and 2022's The Disney Book, have all been international best-sellers.

In March, Lang released his latest album, Lang Lang Saint-Saens, featuring a rich collection of musical discoveries. The album showcases his collaboration with his wife, pianist Gina Alice, The Gewandhausorchester, and Andres Nelsons. Notably, the album includes Carnival of the Animals, a beloved and whimsical composition that has enchanted young audiences for generations, aligning with Lang's heartfelt mission to foster a love for classical music among younger listeners.
