The prestigious Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2024 list was unveiled during an awards ceremony in Seoul on Tuesday and the title of The Best Restaurant in Asia was bestowed upon Sezanne in Tokyo.
Based on the input from Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Academy, a diverse group of 318 experts, including food writers, critics, chefs, restaurateurs, and culinary leaders, this year's list features restaurants from 19 cities across Asia, with eight new additions.
Four restaurants in Shanghai made the list with Fu He Hui at No 19 joined by three new entries. These include the newly opened Ling Long, at No 36, chef Jason Liu's Shanghai outpost of the Chinese restaurant, 102 House, at No 40, serving Cantonese banquet cuisine, and Meet The Bund at No 50, offering southern Fujian cuisine within Shanghai's bustling Bund Finance Center.
Hong Kong boasts six spots on the list, with The Chairman at No 4 maintaining its leading position in the city. Chef and owner Danny Yip has been honored with the Icon Award for his dedication to championing Cantonese cuisine on the global stage.
