China's major stock indices were higher in the morning session on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.06 percent at 2,878.83 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.27 percent to end at 8,792.25 points.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, rose 0.63 percent to 1,706.91 points.
