Chinese artist Zhi Ming's ongoing solo show concentrating on the art of porcelain held at Hubei Museum of Art in Wuhan, Hubei province, has attracted lots of viewers in June.

The exhibition, The Temperature of Time, running until Friday, uses the form of porcelain to demonstrate how the traditional Chinese art has developed into its contemporary form by mixing art and technologies together.

In the exhibition, the section of Power of Nature allows visitors to feel different temperatures of natural things such as a human body and Pluto. The section of Colors of History features various types of clay hung on wall to invite visitors to feel them. In this section, the artist gathers typical types of clay used in various periods in history to make porcelain to present the development of China's porcelain from ancient times.

A sculpture artist, Zhi has devoted his time to ceramic art in recent years. He made lots of large-sized ceramic sculptures and installations, including his 24 Solar Terms series.

Zhi sees porcelain as a kind of high tech in ancient China. He says until now porcelain has kept serving us in daily life, such as ceramic cups, plates and tea pots.

"Ceramic is a universal language. It's also a medium of culture. I hope visitors can learn more about it through my works," says Zhi, also a professor with Chinese National Academy of Arts.
