To celebrate the sakura season, Japanese restaurant chain Sushi Yotsuba recently launched a set meal in its Beijing branches. This seasonal menu features a range of offerings that showcase the best flavors and ingredients of the season.
The appetizer, which is a crispy pancake with fresh sea urchin, hairy crab meat and caviar, is a bite of umami in the mouth.
The hassun, an eight-snack platter, features a variety of spring-inspired dishes, such as fried oysters from Nagasaki, glutinous rice balls and tuna salad.
The cheese-baked abalone is another highlight, which features tender abalone paired with creamy avocado, baby corn, asparagus and salmon roe. This dish is a perfect representation of the rich and indulgent flavors of spring.
The set menu also includes four types of sushi, including wagyu beef, shrimp, and two seasonal fish that are expertly paired with their respective ingredients to create a harmonious and delicious combination.
