The fifth China International Import Expo, which concluded on Nov 10 in Shanghai, has set new records in a wide range of fields with over 145 countries and regions participating.
The value of tentative deals for one-year purchases of goods and services at the fifth CIIE reached $73.52 billion, an increase of 3.9 percent from last year.

438 premier debuts, technologies and services from 2,800 companies in 127 countries and regions were first launched at the fifth CIIE, exceeding the number from last year.

24 parallel sessions of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum were held at the fifth CIIE, compared with 14 sessions last year, a significant feature of each year's expo.

An award ceremony was held for the first time by the organizers at the fifth CIIE, with recognition of companies attending the expo for four and five consecutive years and fifty exhibitors for making great contributions.

The e-CIIE 2022 digital platform, launched for the first time this year, has attracted 368 technology and equipment enterprises to participate online via 64 livestreams with 600,000 views.

The world's top 15 pharmaceutical giants, plus the top 10 medical equipment companies, gathered for the first time at the medical equipment and healthcare products pavilion at the fifth expo.

The fifth CIIE organized 82 signing activities, carried out 94 new product launch events and displayed 171 cutting-edge technology products.

An online country exhibition was held at this year's expo, with 69 countries and international organizations participating and the cumulative number of visits reaching 59 million.

A total of 1,076 exhibitors from 104 countries and regions were present at the food and agricultural products exhibition area, involving the widest range of countries and the largest number of enterprises.

The total exhibition area for people-to-people and culture exchanges increased to 32,000 square meters, the largest ever. The number of exhibitors in attendance for this section was up by 16 percent compared to the previous year, with a total of 715.
