Beijing's average concentration of PM2.5 has declined to 29 micrograms per cubic meter so far this year after the capital made great efforts fighting air pollution and improving the natural environment in the past few decades. The annual average concentration of PM2.5 declined to 33 micrograms per cubic meter in 2021, falling by 63.1 percent compared with the level in 2013. During that time, the city's forest coverage rate increased from 38.6 percent to 44.6 percent.
Jin Xiangjun, deputy secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee
Tianjin will strive to contribute more to the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, tapping into its industrial, financial and port advantages. In addition, the city has rolled out a series of major ecological projects, which have significantly improved local ecosystems and created new tourist attractions. Thanks to consistent efforts, the city has established a green, ecological barrier between the downtown and the coastal area of the city, added new green areas and restored its coastal wetlands.
Lian Yimin, deputy secretary and secretary-general of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee
Hebei has accelerated its development while integrating with Beijing and Tianjin, with the transfer of Beijing's non-capital functions that are not essential to its role as the key task. So far, more than 40,000 enterprises and institutions from Beijing and Tianjin have resettled in Hebei. In Xiong'an New Area, an investment of more than 460 billion yuan ($64 billion) has been made for its development. The first group of transferred functions to Xiong'an, including universities, hospitals and State-owned enterprises, have started constructing their headquarters in the area.

Shanxi has made remarkable contributions to ensuring energy security in the country while accelerating efforts to unleash its coal production capacity. The province has worked tirelessly this year to accomplish a mandate from central authorities to increase coal output. Currently, coal production capacity in Shanxi is adequately mobilized with abundant capacity reserved. There is ample power supply as well. We assure the public that we have the confidence, capability and determination to perform well in increasing production to ensure energy supply.
Huang Zhiqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Committee and executive vice-chairman
The autonomous region has 57 percent of the country's wind energy resources and more than 21 percent of the country's solar energy resources. The installed capacity of the region's new energy will reach more than 135 million kilowatts by 2025, exceeding that of thermal power. By 2030, the amount of power generated by new energy will exceed that of thermal power and the region will lead in building a supply system dominated by new energy in the country.
Hu Yuting, deputy secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Dalian Municipal Committee
Liaoning will strive to create a fertile atmosphere for revitalization and development. It will feature a good business environment, strong innovation ability, an excellent regional pattern, beautiful ecological environment, great openness and vitality, and happiness. Liaoning has made solid strides in its revitalization and development. We will play a bigger role in revitalizing Northeast China in the new era.
Liu Wei, deputy secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee
Jilin has been prioritizing efforts to ensure national food security. Last year, Jilin's grain output reached 40.4 billion kilograms, ranking the province fifth among the nation's largest grain-producing regions, and the rate of increase of the province's grain production was highest among those regions. Jilin province has always been improving farmland management and farming technologies, and has taken the lead in the construction of the national food security industrial belt.

Heilongjiang has promoted its agricultural modernization and has achieved a 98 percent mechanization rate on arable land. We will continue with efforts to develop the province's brand awareness and high-tech, green, high-quality agriculture in the future.

Shanghai, the birthplace of the Party, has been dedicated to improving the quality of life of local residents through projects that range from renovation of old neighborhoods to construction of childcare centers to modernizing urban governance and constructing a green, convenient and highly livable city.

Jiangsu province has been striving to foster a market-oriented and world-class business environment that abides by the law for more companies and talent. In eight of the past 10 years, Jiangsu ranked first among all provinces in the utilization of foreign capital. The manufacturing industry has laid a solid foundation for the province's high-quality development, which has become a distinctive feature of the economic hub.
