Shenzhen most attractive city for talent in 2020

Shenzhen, a first-tier city in South China's Guangdong province, has become the most attractive city for talent this year, followed by Hangzhou and Shanghai, 21st Century Business Herald reported citing the latest report from Maimai, a social networking app for office employees.

Fifty-seven percent reported feeling more anxious than before, which arose from jobs, followed by savings, the pandemic, life, health and feelings, the report said based on a big data analysis of 110 million users and social recruitment.

The three industries with the highest happiness overall are education/training/R&D, durable consumer goods and healthcare/pharmacy, while the three unhappiest ones are trade/wholesale/retail, animal husbandry and fishery and IT/internet.

In terms of attracting talent, the IT and internet industry saw the biggest inflow of talent, while service, manufacturing and financing experienced a significant outflow of talent.

The top 10 most competitive positions are brands, public relations, business operations, venture capital/equity investment, UI design, human resource business partners (HRBP), project manager, product operations, creative design and strategy operations, the report said.

The 10 scarcest positions are graphic development, audio/video development, game development, broadcast/host/anchor, pharmaceutical R&D, numerical game designer, algorithm, insurance broker, cloud computing R&D and after-school tutors.

Moreover, the report released the top 10 highest-paying professions in the digital economy: architect, algorithm, data security, risk control R&D, game producer, cloud computing R&D, audio/video development, data analysis, data development and special effects artist.

The internet industry has the most demand for digitization talent, with the highest talent distribution ratio (nearly 88 percent), while financing, communication electronics and manufacturing have the most digitization talent, according to the report.
