China's economy has been driven by online livestreaming, as livestreaming platforms and ecommerce are prospering despite the fight against COVID-19.

With the emergence of new sales methods, livestreaming host has become a new profession.

About 3,000 livestreaming hosts have been promoting their products, especially seafood, from dawn to dusk in Haitou county of Lianyungang, East China's Jiangsu province.

Many products, which couldn't be sold in the past, have become hard to find now. Many new jobs in packing and logistics have been generated, boosting local residents' income.

E-commerce sales of seafood in Haitou town exceeded 5 billion yuan ($720 million) in 2019. From fishing nets to the internet, livestreaming hosts in Haitou have built a new life for themselves and their communities.
