The National Day holiday is expected to witness 800 million trips by individuals, according to a projection by travel experts from Ctrip as reported by Sina Finance.

The top three Chinese cities where most people are planning to travel are Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou, according to a report on 2019 National Day tourism trends released by Ctrip, China's largest online travel agency.

Japan is the most popular country for outbound group travel and Lanzhou, capital of Northwest China's Gansu province, is the hottest destination for domestic group travel, the report said.

About 28 percent of travelers plan to take their children to explore the world, and Sanya in South China's Hainan province is the most popular domestic destination for independent travel during the 70th National Day holiday.
