In unusual but true stories this week, we have a goldfish becoming world's smallest patient, an activity to build human towers, unconventional vehicles break records, and a snack packet with only one corn puff inside.
All the odd and interesting anecdotes from around the world are here in our review.
A goldfish becomes world's smallest patient
A goldfish weighing just one gram has become the smallest surgical patient ever in the UK, with a tumor being removed from its abdomen.
Its owners noticed that Molly the goldfish had a massive lump on its abdomen. They brought her to Highcroft Vets in Bristol immediately and the staff there suggested surgery.
The surgery took about 40 minutes and was successful, and Molly went home after waking up.
The vets said Molly is the smallest animal to go under the knife, while normally they operate on the likes of iguanas, snakes and crocodiles.
"You definitely have to have steady hands and good eyesight. It was definitely a team effort," said one vet.
Activity to build human towers
People gathered to participate in an exciting and thrilling activity, "Castells", in Barcelona, Spain, to celebrate the La Merce festival in Barcelona on Sept 24.
The tradition of building human towers, or "castells", dates back to the 18th century, and takes place during festivals in Bals, South Catalonia's Tarragona Catalonia, where "colles", or teams, compete to build the tallest and most complicated towers.
Later, the activity was well received in other areas in Catalonia to become one of the most popular holiday celebrations. During the activity, no matter the people standing and cheering, or those actively participating in building the towers, they are enthusiastic to show a cohesion in spite of races, religions, ages and genders.
"Castells" means "castle" in the Catalan language.
Unconventional vehicles to break records
A host of unconventional vehicles are preparing to break their own land-speed records, including the world's fastest shed at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire.
There will be a bid for drivers and riders to reach the high speeds, as well as one by another driver, to bag a record in a vehicle that cost less than 1,000 pounds to build.
It took Yorkshire-based Mission 100 team three years to build their "streamliner" vehicle.
It is also using of recycled parts and engineering skills to make the speed bids.
A packet with only one corn puff inside
Andy Stubbs, a software manager who is a dad-of-two children, Oscar, 9 and Harry, 5, discovered only one corn puff inside when he opened a packet of Wotsits in the UK.
He bought a multi-pack of the cheesy flavor corn puffs for lunch with his family, but he realized there was just one Wotsit inside right after he shook the bag.
He wanted to keep it closed as a memento and thought that would be funnier, but his wife, Jane, encouraged him to open it when she saw in the news about the guy who only had a one bean in a tin of baked beans.
"We'd known for a while there was probably just one Wotsit, but it didn't stop the whole thing from being funny," said Andy.
A packet of Wotsits is supposed to contain an average of 42 puffs inside.
