Carlo Monlfeta of Italy has beat Anthony Obame of Gabon to win the Olympic taekwondo gold medal in the men’s over-80 kilogram class.

Cuba’s Robelis Despaigne and China’s Liu Xiao-bo took bronze. Obame earned Gabon’s first Olympic medal on Saturday when he took silver.

China’s Liu Xiaobo won the other bronze after beating Turkey’s Tanrikulu. Mali’s Daba Mo-dibo Keita was unable to fight for a bronze due to injury, leaving Robelis Despaigne of Cuba to pick up the medal.
