In Hong Kong, sparkling decorations have been lighting up the city. With Christmas and New Year approaching, Hong Kong's malls are decorated and ready for the year-end shopping spree.

Can you hear the bells chime? Yes, it is that time of year again, when every shopping mall in Hong Kong turns into a huge gift box.

Unlike other parts of the world where people usually decorate their houses, Hong Kong spruces up its many malls.

The decorations differ year to year, always attracting large crowds from all over the world. But Operation Decoration is expensive and time-consuming.

Ling Yuanting, manager of Times Square Hong Kong, said, “We planned this theme a year ago. More and more people will gather here for the year-end countdown, so we want to make ours the most spectacular. For example, this year we made a Barbie Show inside the mall, which has received a good review so far. Most designers need a long time to look for inspirations, so we often plan earlier."

Costing up to ten million yuan each time, many malls aren't put off by the price tag as the year-end shopping spree is just around the corner.

Li liyi, manager of Harbor City Mall, said, "We think our sales in the last quarter and the first quarter next year will be an ideal number. It is a holiday season for shopping and reunion. We have great confidence for our sales."

With the Christmas season in full swing, tourists from all over the world are swarming into Hong Kong to celebrate the holidays. So if you are planning a festive trip to Hong Kong, don't forget to check out the malls - not just for the shops, but for the decorations too.
