Believed to be in his late 20s, Kim Jong Un was Kim Jong Il's third son and was visibly struck viewing his father's glass coffin. Making his first public appearance since the death of his father, Kim was flanked by the DPRK's most senior military and political officials, a group he will be looking to to help him consolidate his succession. The DPRK's state media has called on the people to support the man who has been named the "great successor," as the world closely watches the transition unfold.
