The dynamic reactive planning methods of differential-algebraic equation based short-term voltage stability and power flow equation(PV curve) based long-term voltage stability were proposed to carry out the dynamic reactive power reserve assessment and dynamic reactive demand research for East China Power Grid of 2010.

The analysis method and modeling requirement for short term and mid/long term voltage stability are expounded.

Based on slow dynamic characteristic,the components including generator,excitation current limiter,armature current limiter,transformer with on-load tap changer(OLTC),load and secondary voltage controller,which have great effect on long-term voltage stability,are modeled.

This model considered long-term voltage stability and costs of controls synthetically,which could coordinate different kinds of controls distributed over different locations.

Based on the concept, the reliability index was constructed in which the transient and the long-term voltage stability could be considered.

Simulated results on New England 10-machine 39-bus system demonstrate that the proposed method improves the long-term voltage stability of power systems because it effectively coordinates the actions of different control devices.

Considering the characteristic of voltage stability analysis, the parallel computation method is applied to the quasi steady state (QSS) simulation which is suitable for the mid-term voltage stability analysis.
