Taking the steel box girder deck plate of Sutong Bridge as the research object,the authors in this paper selected the critical structural details of the plate and have completed test study of fatigue performance of the plate in order to define its allowable fatigue stress amplitude under the condition of the current welding and assembling workmanship of steel box girders.

Stress distributions on upper chords and deck plates, mechanism of load transferring between the plates and trusses and joint function of both of them are analyzed.
