The empirical orthogonal function method is applied to decompose the number of snow cover days of 240 meteorology stations in Hetao region and its vicinity(30°~43° N,102°~120° E) from 1961 to 2000;the temporal-spatial anomaly distribution in this area is analyzed.

| 积温 accumulated temperature 作物生长发育阶段内逐日平均气温的总和。衡量作物生长发育过程热量条件的一种标尺，也是表征地区热量条件的一种标尺。以〔度·日〕为单位。 通常使用的有活动积温和有效积温两种 。①活动积温（一般简称积温 ）。为大于某一临界温度值的日平均气温的总和，如日平均气温≥0℃的活动积温和日平均气温≥10℃的活动积温等。某种作物完成某一生长发育阶段或完成全部生长发育过程，所需的积温为一相对固定值。②有效积温。扣除生物学下限温度（有时同时扣除生物学上限温度），对作物生长发育有效的那部分温度的总和。即扣除对作物有热害和冷害的部分，使热量条件与作物生长发育更趋一致。此外，还有计算日平均气温 ＜0℃的日平均气温总和 ——负积温，以研究作物越冬的抗寒能力和作物（如冬小麦）经受寒冷锻炼的程度。 积温作为表征地区热量的标尺，常作为气候区划和农业气候区划的热量指标，以衡量该地区的热量条件能满足何种作物生长发育的需要。 |
