形态特征:婴栗科绿绒篙属一年生草本植物，高30-45厘米，全株被黄褐色或淡黄色坚硬而平展的刺。基生叶密集成簇莲座状，叶片倒披针形或近匙形，长5-12厘米，宽1-3厘米，全缘或波状，茎生叶互生，较小。6-7月开花，总状花序具4-8朵花，生于茎端，最上部的花下无苞片。花大，半下垂，直径4-6厘米;花瓣5-8，蓝紫色或深蓝色，宽倒卵形，长2-3厘米，宽2-2.5厘米。蒴果倒卵形或椭圆状长圆形，长2-3厘米，被锈色或黄褐色平展或反曲的刺。
生境分布:生于海拔3300-5300米的草坡或岩坡上。分布于西藏、云南、四川、青海和甘肃。
用途:全草消炎，止骨痛，治头痛、骨折。
