The present article offers a brief study of the theoretical principles and methodologies of critical discourse analysis(CDA),with an attempt to conduct a discourse analysis of distorted news about China from western press within the three-dimensional framework of CDA proposed by Norman Fairclough.

Reporters must adapt the changes of times, examine the problems of the approaching of news, real report and different classes of readers and audiences from the methods of communication; establish a world vision; have a leading thinking; guide the readers and audiences in different classes and write new times chapters.
