However, existed DO devices for mandibular elongation are mostly linear, which only lengthen bone in one direction, so a novel internal bidimensional distractor was invented by our team in hope to elongate mandibular ramus and body simultaneously and provide an alternative solution for mandibular retrognathia.

| 张维（1913～ ） 中国力学家。中国科学院院士、中国工程院院士。北京人。1933年毕业于唐山交通大学土木系，1937年留学英国伦敦帝国理工学院，1938年转学德国，1944年获柏林高等工业学校工程博士学位，1946年回国后曾任同济、北洋和清华大学教授。1949年后历任清华大学土木系和工程力学系主任、副校长、校务委员会副主任、兼任深圳大学校长。从事高等教育40多年。任《机械工程》、《电机工程》副主编，国务院学位委员会委员，中国科协副主席，国家教委科技委员会主任，中国力学学会和中国土木工程学会副理事长。瑞典皇家工程科学院外籍院士。1988年获联邦德国总统颁发的大十字级荣誉勋章。著有《壳体理论入门》、《薄壳体结构理论概要》，主编《壳体文献汇编》。 |
