| 宇文邕(543～578) 中国南北朝北周皇帝。小字祢罗突。武川（今内蒙古武川西）人。宇文泰第四子。武成二年（560），权臣宇文护毒死明帝宇文毓，护立时为大司空、鲁国公的宇文邕为帝。仍掌朝政。建德元年(572)，宇文邕诛杀宇文护，始亲自处理国务。宇文邕生活俭朴，诸事希求超越古人，对宇文护及北齐所修过于华丽的宫殿一律焚毁，对下严酷少恩，但果断明决，耐劳苦，征伐时躬亲行阵，得士卒死力。四年，他独与齐王宇文宪等少数人策划，力排众议，决定伐齐并亲自统军围攻金墉城(今河南洛阳)，因病还师。次年又率大军伐齐，几路并进，攻克平阳(今山西临汾)。围晋阳（今山西太原西南）时军事失利，自己仅得免。其后听从宇文忻“死中求生，败中取胜”的建议，终于攻克晋阳。六年，入邺，灭北齐。齐境有北魏所俘河西人世为厮役的杂户，周境有从东魏及南朝梁江陵俘虏的良人没为奴婢，他都豁免为良人。建德二年，宇文邕确决三教先后，以儒为先，道次之，佛教最后。次年禁佛、道二教，沙门、道士并令还俗，为历史上三武废佛之一。突厥强盛，目北齐、北周为在南两儿。宇文邕不得不娶突厥公主为后，灭齐之后，宣政元年(578)宇文邕率军分五道伐突厥，未成行而病死。两三年之后，杨坚灭周。
