【森林保险】以多年生植物的灾害损失为保险标的的保险。中国从1984年后开始在部分产林省仄试办，已开办的有人工杉木保险、用材林保险、棍交林保险和防护林保险。凡在生长期中的各种森林和砍伐后尚未集中存放的园木及竹林，符合承保条件者均可参加保险。森林的主要灾害有火灾、气象灾害和病虫害，中国在试办阶段仅承保单项火灾责任。保险金额的确定有二种方式:①按蓄积量确定保额。即中、成林依每亩众木的蓄积量按立方米计算保险金额‘②成本保额。即按照造林育林过程中实际投人的成本计算保险金额。③造林费定额保险、，即根据造林头3年投人的基本费用计算保险额。该险在保障森林受灾之后，能及时更新造林，消除迹地，并对采用统保大面积展业，较为适宜。
