Social participation is an important channel for science and engineering graduates to contact real society,to improve their practical ability and serve the society.

This paper has analyzed the current situation of training the engineering graduate students in universities in China,emphasizing the importance of the practice course during the training of enginering graduate student,and carrying on the discussion upon how to train the graduate students′ability of practice and innovation.

This paper is based on the investigation into the attitudes towards science of graduate students of Science & Engineering in China Academy of Sciences.
