Combined with practice of general drawing design of copper smelting system with yearly production of 300 000t of Guixi smeltery Jiangtong Company,it mainly expounds main general drawing design key points about metallurgical process,traffic transportation,reserved land use and pipeline support laying.

It focuses on the self-financeprinciple and the concept of contribution,replotting,reserve land as well,which canbe useful according to our current situa-tion of urban development.

From the perspective of reducing engineering cost and the role of planning,this paper illustrates the need of reserving land along the rail and especially in the station area,discusses the factors that determine the scale of reserved land around station; finally,this paper argues that the benefit of rail transit will come from the development of rail+ the reserved la.
