Powder River Coal Basin
保德河煤田(Powder River Coal Basin)世界已开发的探明储量最多的煤田。位于美国怀俄明州东北部和蒙大拿州西南部，面积3.1万kmZ，预测储量700。亿t，探明储量1 224亿t。埋藏第三纪次烟煤，煤质优良，原煤硫分仅0.5%，灰分小于1。%，发热量19.5一20·SMJ/kg。煤层埋藏浅，厚度大，适于露天开采，目前开采的伍达克煤层，厚21一28m，倾角1“，覆盖层为砂和粘土，厚5一76m。1970年美国联邦政府颁布大气净化法后，该煤田的低硫动力煤受到重视，许多公司竞相开发。1972年产量仅300万t，1990年即达一80.SMt其中怀俄明州部分占81.9%。1988年，煤田怀俄明州部分共有18个大型露天矿，总产量达124Mt。露天矿采用斗容3。~4Om3的机械铲，载重170t的自卸汽车，设备和生产系统采用计算机监控，生产效率极高，成本很低，煤矿职工总数不到4 000人，平均全员效率达116吨/工。1991年该煤田矿口交货价格仅3.7一4.6美元/吨。 保德河煤田地处美国北部大草原，干早缺水，人烟稀少，生产的煤98%外运，供给美国”个州的电站和工业锅炉。运到墨西哥湾的距离达3 400km，每吨运费20.0一23.5美元。(王庆一)
