Although there were some shortcomings in his system from the contents to the methods,the book still provides a kind of useful attempt and extends unique arguments for many important issues of Yi-ology in early period,such as the paradigm of Yi-ology,the origin of the 64 hexagrams,images conceived in the eight trigrams,meeting the "eight" in divination,and so on.

To evaluate Confucius and early Confucianism in the epistemological perspective, or to infer the concepts of science and democracy from Confucianism, or even to interpret Confucius as the forerunner of revolution, is to deviate from Confucius original intention of initiating a new school.
