By analyzing the concerned conditions, this paper makes a study on how to improve the methods of flood forecasting at Gaoyao Hydrometric Station, and obtains the satisfied results.

It is significant to establish the flood forecast scheme for preventing floods and abating disasters in Yanan city and downstream towns.
