The Lancang River originates from an alpine springs on the slopes of the Tanggula Mountain in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,and follows a sinuous north to south route through Qinghai,Tibet and Yunnan provinces in China,then Myanmar,Laos,Thailand,Cambodia and Vietnam before emptying into the South China Sea,with a length over 4880 km.

中国电力工业主要领导者。原名刘玉田。1904年10月1日生于辽宁凤城县。1982年3月5日于北京逝世。1930年在北京大学政治系肄业。九·一八事变后，受中国共产党派遣，去东北军工作。曾任东北军中国共产党工作委员会书记。因工作出色，深得张学良、黄显声将军信任。1945年10月至1950年4月,先后任安东（今丹东）省政府主席、省委书记、省军区政委、中国人民解放军第四纵队副政委等职，为坚持南满根据地和建设辽东，作出重要贡献。1950年5月调到中央后,曾任燃料工业部副部长、电力工业部部长、水利电力部副部长、电力工业部部长、国务院顾问、中共中央纪律检察委员会常务委员等职。在主持电力工业的近20年期间，他提出了"水火并举、因地制宜"的方针，正确处理了火电与水电的关系；在指导电力生产与建设上，他坚持安全第一、质量第一的原则，反对"超铭牌运行"和"边勘察、边设计、边施工"的错误做法。他主持确定了西北大型水电站（如刘家峡水电站）和中国第一个 330千伏超高压输变电工程的建设。为中国电力工业的发展作出重要贡献。
