| 民间舞 folk dance 产生并广泛流传于民间的舞蹈。它反映各地区、民族特有的劳动、风俗、交际方式和爱情生活，多风格鲜明。不同地区和民族的舞蹈受生活方式、历史传统、宗教信仰、风俗习惯乃至地理气候等自然环境的影响，表现出迥异的风格特点。但它也具备一定的共性：①自娱性。动作比较简单，易于掌握。②即兴性。因其规范性较弱，在大体一致的节奏韵律下舞者可以自由发挥。③相对稳定性。由于它总是在一定的范围内流传，很少受外界文化的影响，虽在技能技巧上有所发展，但其风格特点相对稳定，很少变化。民间舞蹈一直是专业艺术家的创作素材。他们把它提炼修饰成为表演性的舞蹈，但这丝毫不影响民间舞沿着自己的途径世代相传。中国各民族各地区都有民间舞，历史悠久，形式多样，其共同特点是：载歌载舞、使用道具、表现劳动生活和神话传说。
