分子式C3H4，分子量40.06。又称甲基乙炔，结构简式CH3-C≡CH。无色气体，存在于石油气的碳三馏分中。熔点-102.7℃，沸点-23.22℃，相对密度（-40/4℃）为0.6911g/cm3，与空气形成爆炸性混和物，有汞盐存在时，在稀硫酸中可生成丙酮；可聚合成1，3，5-三甲基苯。可由碘甲烷或硫酸二甲酯与乙炔钠或与乙炔的格氏试剂反应制得，或由1，2-二溴丙烷在氢氧化钾的乙醇溶液中反应而制得。
